Edmore council approves routine minutes, appointments and bills; donation from museum tabled

At its Nov. 11 meeting, the Village of Edmore Council unanimously approved minutes, appointed Shirley Drain as treasurer and Kerri Peterson as clerk to two-year terms, approved payment of bills and tabled a proposed donation from the Old Fence Rider Museum until December.
The Village of Edmore Council took a series of routine actions at its Nov. 11 regular meeting, approving minutes, appointing officers and authorizing payment of bills.
Trustee Colburn moved and Trustee Guild supported acceptance of the Oct. 14 minutes; the voice vote passed 6 yes, 1 absent. Trustee Colburn later moved to accept the Oct. 25 special-meeting minutes; Trustee Moore supported and the motion passed by voice vote.
President Gloria Burr asked the council to appoint Shirley Drain to a two-year term as village treasurer. Trustee Guild moved to accept the appointment, supported by Trustee McParland; the voice vote was unanimous of members present and Burr administered the oath of office. For village clerk, Trustee McParland moved to appoint Kerri Peterson to a two-year term, supported by Trustee Moore; that motion also passed and Burr administered the oath.
Trustee Guild moved, with Trustee Moore supporting, to approve payment of bills; a roll-call vote recorded yes votes from Colburn, Guild, McParland, Moore, Pierce and Burr and the motion passed 6 yes, 1 absent.
The council discussed a potential donation from the Old Fence Rider Museum; the village attorney advised the museum may donate and the village may accept, but the council tabled any formal acceptance until the December meeting to allow further review.
The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Dec. 9, 2024.
