Silvis council approves consent agenda and routine measures, including event permits and audit contract

The council approved a 1% pay increase for the administrative assistant to the police chief. Alderman Doug Greer moved the pay increase and Alderman Steve Marinaccio seconded; the motion passed 7–0 (Alderman Craig Pirmann was absent).
The council granted two special-event permits to Triangle Tribute LLC: a drag show scheduled for June 19, 2026, and a band performance scheduled for June 26, 2026. Alderwoman Chrissy Winters moved approval of the June 19 permit; Alderman Chad Vroman moved approval of the June 26 permit. Both motions were seconded and passed 7–0.
The council approved sewer forgiveness for the property at 1320 1st Ave. Alderman Doug Greer moved the approval and Alderman Steve Marinaccio seconded; the motion passed 7–0.
On finance and contracts, the council approved a one-year audit contract with accounting firm Lauterbach & Amen. Alderman Dave Rice moved and Alderwoman Ariel Wilcox seconded the audit contract approval; the motion passed 7–0.
Council members also approved Motor Fuel Tax Resolution 2026-09R, Ordinance 2026-10 declaring the Phipps Park House surplus property, and acceptance of a Bi-State grant to fund Live Scan fingerprinting equipment for the police department. The council authorized a $9,100 repair for the city F-550 transmission from Kunes Ford. Every listed motion carried by voice vote with seven ayes and one absence recorded.
