Park board reviews finances, coach payments and schedules May work day

At the April 13 meeting, the City of Hamilton Park Board reviewed its financial position, discussed administrative practices for paying volunteer coaches, and scheduled upcoming park projects.
Cole Crawford reported a cash balance of $55,464.92. Board members noted that the city has been issuing multiple reimbursement checks to coaches and said the payment method needs to change; the minutes state the board needs to "figure out a different way to 'pay' coaches" but do not record any decided replacement process. The minutes also note a proposal to revisit a "Morgan contract" to ensure dragging and weed control are performed; the minutes refer to "Morgan" only by surname and do not identify that person further.
The sports committee asked for a spreadsheet listing who has keys to facilities and requested that a city employee be made an admin of the committee’s Facebook page so officials can manage communications. The board scheduled a Disc Golf course work day for Saturday, May 2. The city will purchase 27" x 28" flower pots at $200 each using Economic Development funds while the Park Board will cover the cost of plants.
The meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.; the next meeting is set for Monday, June 8 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
