Edmore council tightens yard-waste rules, requires property/tree-service cleanup

The Edmore Village Council voted unanimously on Aug. 12 to amend Operating Procedure #13 for rubbish and yard-waste collection, placing responsibility for removal of tree debris on property owners and commercial tree services.
The amendment requires homeowners who remove trees on their property, or the commercial services they hire, to remove all logs and branches within 30 days. The council also set size limits for normal brush clean-up piles (no longer than 25 feet in length by 4 feet high) and limited branch diameter to 4 inches.
Guild moved to amend the procedure; Moore supported the motion. A voice vote recorded all seven members in favor. The change responds to repeated DPW requests that residents and contractors not leave large piles of debris at the curb for village crews to remove and aims to clarify enforcement expectations.
The minutes show a practical enforcement approach: the DPW continues scheduled chipping on the first Tuesday of the month from April through September for storm-damage cleanup, but the amended procedure imposes homeowner/service responsibility for deliberate removals. No enforcement penalties were specified in the minutes.
