The Harwood City Council approved repairs to the community center not to exceed $5,000 after Community Center Manager Josh Diede requested door replacement estimates. Councilor Chris Higgins moved to approve the expenditure; Jamie Nettum seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Auditor Chayla Hansen told the council the city received an insurance payment of $42,270 against a $75,450 repair proposal; the insurer included a depreciation adjustment of $30,180. The auditor said Alex from Ground Control will provide a final bill prior to the April meeting. The council also ordered a flagpole and approved a summer change to the auditor's office hours, with the office closing at noon for the summer.
The council approved a special events permit earlier in the meeting; the permit motion was made by Nettum and seconded by Higgins and carried. The council discussed fire-rule enforcement and asked staff to gather more information before any ordinance drafting.
