The Rogersville Board of Aldermen met Feb. 3, 2025, and approved routine business including payments totaling $12,882.18, awarded a road-stripping contract, and confirmed two mayoral appointments. The board also postponed further discussion of cyber security insurance and received an update on municipal nitrogen testing.
Mayor Cole called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The board approved the Jan. 23, 2025 minutes after a motion by Alderman Tim Clarkson, seconded by Alderman Kori Stucki; the vote was recorded with Aldermen Stucki, Clarkson and Jeff Lee voting aye and Alderman Pyle listed as absent.
Alderman Kori Stucki moved to approve accounts payable: General Fund $2,940.40, Water/Sewer $9,422.45 and Park $519.33, for a total of $12,882.18. The motion was seconded by Alderman Jeff Lee and recorded as passing with Stucki, Clarkson and Lee voting aye and Pyle absent.
During the administrative update, Administrator Chad Bybee reported ongoing nitrogen testing conducted at seven locations in coordination with DNR and said, "Our nitrogen level is 2 and the limit is 10," adding that samples have been taken at different locations and times of year to document the city's process for the agency.
On old business, the clerk presented example cyber insurance policies and Attorney Krebs agreed to review the materials. The board voted to postpone further discussion; the motion to postpone was recorded as passing with three aye votes and one absence.
Under new business, the board received one bid for Farm Road 253 from All Sealed Up for $12,200.00. Alderman Jeff Lee moved to approve the bid, Alderman Kori Stucki seconded, and the motion was recorded as passing with Stucki, Clarkson and Lee voting aye and Pyle absent.
Mayor Cole nominated Tatyana Osennity to Planning and Zoning and John Leingang to the Board of Adjustments. The minutes record a motion to approve the appointments, moved by Alderman Tim Clarkson, and record the motion as passing. The minutes list Clarkson as both mover and seconder; the transcript does not clarify whether the duplicate listing is a typographical error.
The minutes show a motion to adjourn and record the meeting ending at approximately 6:20 p.m. The motion and vote are recorded in the minutes, though the recorded mover is listed as Alderman Pyle despite earlier notation that Pyle was unable to attend; this discrepancy is noted in the official minutes.
The minutes were submitted by City Clerk Glenda Stegner and will serve as the official record of the Feb. 3 meeting.
