Police report unauthorized ACH transaction referred to SLED; council receives other administrative updates

Chief of Police Kyle Lamparter provided an update on an unauthorized ACH transaction, saying the incident has been reported to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and that the department is following investigative steps.
Lamparter also noted a large hole in the Highway 17 sidewalk between Southgate and Middlegate, stating SCDOT is responsible for the repair and expressing hope for a more expedient fix. He said the department plans to list a police car for sale on GovDeals.
Town Clerk Jennifer Newbold said she will include the police department's public-safety visibility trimming list in the upcoming Firewise bid package. Mayor Dave Buonviri said he will meet with HTC to discuss bringing an additional internet service provider to town and that franchise-fee questions will be addressed with HTC and other companies.
Public comments at the workshop raised topics including art displays and neighbor assistance; no formal administrative actions or votes occurred during the workshop.
