Council discusses tree canopy targets, resilience committee and possible grants for utilities and stormwater work

Separately, Miller said he would obtain details from Coastal Asphalt about a stormwater project on Beach and Cabana to determine whether it should be included in the current year budget. Councilwoman Laura Pendley proposed marking the town's 50th anniversary on Feb. 25, 1976 by planting or encouraging 50 trees.
No formal grant applications or budget appropriations were made at the workshop; council members directed staff and council liaisons to gather technical and funding details for future consideration.
