The Village of Four Seasons board voted to award a contract for the retaining wall associated with the new pavilion to Nelson Land Service for $15,120.
Chair introduced the open bid item for the pavilion retaining wall and noted the village had only one formal bid. Trustee Ronald West moved to approve the bid; Renita seconded. The bid amount reported in the meeting was $15,120. "I'll make a motion to go ahead and approve the bid from Nelson Land Service to build the retaining wall," Ronald West said, and trustees approved the motion.
Trustees discussed that Nelson’s had done nearby work and that the retaining wall would match existing work along the street and pedestrian path; they asked the clerk to contact Nelson to confirm a start date and an expected completion date.
The board also discussed landscaping and grounds maintenance budgets for the coming season: one trustee noted the village spends roughly $15,000 a year on flowers and raised the possibility of soliciting bids for landscape services and separating mowing and snow removal into different contracts. Trustees agreed to explore soliciting additional bids for maintenance work to compare costs.
After the vote the board directed Danielle to notify Nelson Land Service and request scheduling information; the motion to award the contract passed by voice vote.
