Eric Frederickson elected board president; Suzanne Janis named district clerk; Jamie Pelas appointed treasurer

At its meeting the Springs Board of Education completed several personnel actions including officer elections and administrative appointments.
With no additional nominations, the board elected Eric Frederickson as board president by roll call vote. Suzanne Janis was appointed district clerk for the 2026-27 school year and administered the oath; the board also voted to appoint Jamie Pelas as district treasurer for the 2025-26 year and noted Pelas will be sworn in later in the day.
The superintendent, Nancy, told the board that district treasurer Jonathan LePage had resigned to take a position closer to home and recommended internal hires to fill administrative positions. "Mister Matt Shimpis, who was formerly our AP, has applied for the job, and we're very excited to be appointing him as director of operations and finance," Nancy said, adding that Mr. Shimpis is enrolled in the school district business leaders program and will be mentored by district staff. Nancy also recommended Kim Bridal as assistant principal, noting her 11 years of teaching in the district.
Board members approved the nominations and appointments by voice vote; the chair declared the motions carried.
