DTE tells Farmington council outages have improved since 2021; highlights "Life Critical" program for medically vulnerable residents

Vogel summarized a four-point improvement plan that includes investments in equipment, vegetation management (tree trimming), response-time enhancements and targeted maintenance in the City of Farmington service area. She also described DTE's "Life Critical" program, which provides additional outreach and support to residents who rely on medical equipment in the event of outages.
Councilmembers voiced appreciation for the improved reliability data and pressed DTE representatives about smaller outage areas and how the company supports medically vulnerable customers during interruptions. DTE representatives said the Life Critical program identifies and assists residents with medical needs and urged residents to register for the program to receive priority assistance during outages.
