The Harwood City Council convened Jan. 7 at 6:30 p.m. and after roll call approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Chris Fix, seconded by Chris Higgins. The council then approved the December meeting minutes, December bills and the financial report on a motion by Dick Sundberg, seconded by Chris Fix; both motions passed unanimously, recorded in the minutes as 'aye' votes.
Deputy Tyler Beckius reported 147 calls for December in Harwood and the surrounding area, and Sheriff Jahner presented the Cass County end‑of‑year report and updates on two local cases. Later in the agenda the council conducted the first reading of Ordinance 2024‑04; Jamie Nettum moved to approve the first reading, Chris Higgins seconded, and the motion carried.
Other procedural items included portfolio updates from council members, an announcement that Brock Hansen will join the Planning and Zoning Committee, and scheduling the next council meeting for Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. Dick Sundberg moved to adjourn at 8:35 p.m.; Chris Higgins seconded and the motion carried.
