Council flags vacant 311 Lind Blvd as possibly unsafe; inspection pending

City Auditor Chayla Hansen told the Harwood City Council that a home at 311 Lind Blvd has been vacant for an estimated five to seven years and raised concerns that the property could be unsafe due to possible mold and rodent infestation. Hansen said she had asked the city inspector to examine the property but had not yet received a written inspection report.
Marc Mosser of the fire department said he conducted an exterior review and believes the property may be in violation of the fire code. Hansen said she had email correspondence with one of the owners indicating plans to remodel and move back in during the summer. The council did not take enforcement action at the Jan. 7 meeting and said the matter would continue once the city inspector's report is completed.
