At its Dec. 2 meeting the Village of Fairgrove council approved the November check registry and authorized several payments, including a $16,611.65 invoice to Spicer with a budget adjustment from fund equity and a $781 invoice to the Michigan Municipal League (MML).
Harrison moved to approve November’s check registry and moved to pay the Spicer bill; Sebert seconded both motions. Roll-call votes for the registry and the Spicer payment were recorded as carried (yes: Sebert, Harrison, Spencer, Thomas, Kristin Young). A separate motion to pay the MML bill was moved by Harrison and seconded by Spencer and carried unanimously.
The council also voted to hold a budget workshop on Jan. 18 at 8:00 a.m. to prepare the 2025 budget and approved early pay for December 2024 on a separate unanimous motion.
No further budget line-item detail or long-term financing for the Spicer invoice is recorded in the meeting transcript; the clerk-treasurer’s check registry was the principal financial record reviewed during the meeting.
