President Schmidt read the resolution during a public hearing; Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan said the Trappe Planning Commission reviewed and passed a matching amendment recommending inclusion. The transcript notes Trappe was the only town in Talbot County not previously included in the Stories of the Chesapeake Heritage Area.
Commissioner Rose Potter moved to adopt Resolution 4-2024, Commissioner Walter Chase seconded the motion, and the council voted unanimously to approve the resolution. No public comments were recorded during the public hearing.
The adoption will formally add the Stories of the Chesapeake Heritage Area Management Plan to Trappe’s Comprehensive Plan and align the town with heritage-area planning in Talbot County.
