Henry County R-I schedules town halls on tax-levy ballot; district notes WES recognition and grounds-bid timeline

District staff provided informational updates at the Feb. 20 meeting of the Henry County R-I Board of Education.
Mr. Brad Hunter told the board that town-hall meetings about the upcoming tax-levy ballot issue are scheduled for Jan. 30, Feb. 27, Mar. 18 and Apr. 3; each session is set to begin at 6:00 P.M. He also said he had spoken with Randy Small about the possibility of Lexington Diesel purchasing a van that could be used to transport smaller groups to activities, an informational note raised for future planning.
Mr. Hunter also reported that Windsor Elementary School was included in the January 2025 Prime Growth Report: "Beating the Odds, 4th Edition" for schoolwide English language arts growth for 2022–23. He said the Lawn Care Notice for the 2025 season has been posted and that bids will be brought to the March board meeting for board consideration. The minutes indicate that Mr. Travis Goosen, Mr. Brad Forrest and Mrs. Whitney Bowers were present to answer questions during administration reports; Mr. Donnie Mayes also attended.
