Dr. Jamie Burkhart summarized state legislative activity for the board, noting that 2,590 bills had been filed in the 2024 session and highlighting items of possible district interest including SB 756 (Senior Citizens Property Tax Credit modifications) and HB 2111 (state auditor powers). She also flagged ongoing debates over four‑day versus five‑day school weeks, proposed expansion of the ESA voucher program, and discussion of a 50% enrollment/50% attendance funding formula; she referred trustees to a more detailed explanation in the board packet on the district website.
Superintendent Brad Hunter briefed the board on the auxiliary gym project, addressing construction cost issues; the minutes record that cost details are in the packet but do not list specific dollar amounts.
