Staff said Spruce and Ash’s outdoor seating was approved (see motion) and that the restaurant hopes to open the outdoor area in about two weeks, subject to final building-department approvals. Lone Light Spirits was described as targeting an early June opening; Sante (a wine bar) was described as an early‑summer target. Staff noted Peace Tacos has delayed its opening date multiple times.
Regarding Los Trace, staff said the business will execute a previously approved site plan that includes enclosing the existing seating area with garage doors that can open to the street and installing fire shutters; staff said the design is intended to preserve an outdoor feel while addressing occupant-load, egress and fire concerns. Staff also reported Hillside Townes—the multi-unit housing project—now has a first building under construction and additional buildings are expected to follow as permitted.
These updates were presented as brief status reports rather than formal actions; the commission did not take separate votes on these status items during the meeting.
