Ferrysburg ZBA reappoints members, tables chair selection and names zoning administrator as board secretary
Summary
The board recommended/reappointed members to the ZBA, tabled selection of 2025–26 chair and vice chair pending city council action, and appointed Craig Bessinger as zoning administrator/board secretary for 2025–26.
At the June 12 meeting the Ferrysburg Zoning Board of Appeals handled several personnel and governance items.
The board considered applicants for two regular terms expiring July 1, 2028, and moved on motions to recommend reappointments. Several motions regarding reappointments passed on roll call. The agenda items to select a chairperson and vice chairperson for 2025–26 were discussed but ultimately tabled until the city council acts on the board’s recommendations so the council can confirm continued service. A board member stated that the items should be taken up at the July meeting after council action.
The board then moved to appoint the zoning administrator as the board’s secretary for 2025–26. A motion to appoint Craig Bessinger as zoning administrator/secretary carried unanimously on a roll call vote.
Board members closed the meeting after brief reports and a reminder to review Open Meetings Act guidance in the packet. A motion to adjourn was passed.
