"Now therefore, be it resolved that I, Richard Carlson, mayor of city of Ferrysburg, request that EGLE expedite permitting for the Grand Haven Inner Harbor," Carlson read. Council members discussed a minor typographical correction in the text and then voted to adopt the proclamation.
The proclamation requests state assistance to speed permit review so the Army Corps may determine whether dredging can proceed safely after PFAS sediment testing. The resolution does not itself change permitting authority; it is a formal request and expression of the city’s position.
