Anna council hears updates on pickleball fundraising, zoning and regulation changes

During the "Old Business" portion of the July 23 meeting, Mayor Cindy Naseman and Administrator William Kessler provided a series of updates on ongoing projects and regulatory changes. Naseman said the pickleball committee had $56,594 committed toward a $70,000 fundraising goal as of July 22.
Solicitor Andrew Johnston said he has drafted a letter to the truck stop regarding the condition of its parking lot and that the business has 10 days to comply. Kessler said change-order paperwork for the sidewalk program has been submitted and payments will follow once processed. The Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) now has seven members, the mayor said, and she hopes to convene the first meeting in August.
Council members also heard that updates to local regulations are being prepared: revisions to solar-panel rules will exclude ground-mounted panels and a public meeting will be scheduled; cannabis regulations were updated to exclude shops within one-half mile of schools and will be the subject of a public meeting; updates to rules concerning agricultural animals will prohibit new agricultural animals in the village except grandfathered living animals and will require written approval before 4-H or FFA projects begin.
