John Blake, a paramedic, briefed the Ada County Emergency Medical Services District on July 7 about recent activities, including a life-saving event involving an extended newborn resuscitation that resulted in a positive outcome.
Blake said the department attended a governor's proclamation event and that the county has received an unanticipated package to purchase cardiac monitors; the first half of those monitors will be purchased soon. He noted the county is still reviewing potential language changes related to GMP funding and whether that will affect the procurement for monitors, and staff are monitoring the situation.
Blake also said the county has begun to receive responses from urban renewal districts related to previous inquiries; staff expect to discuss those responses in a legal (closed) session next week and will share counsel's input after that session. The EMS session concluded after brief remarks and approval of minutes.
