Council approves Wyoming Community Gas designations for town decorations; tables one contractor payment

The council approved several routine items and a small‑scale policy at its Jan. 8 meeting. Council Member Kelly Jones moved to approve the agenda with the addition of Wyoming Community Gas under old business; Council Member Heather Schoning seconded and the motion carried.

Under old business, Council Member Heather Schoning moved to use Wyoming Community Gas designations for the town’s Christmas decorations and landscaping; Council Member Jeston Cundall seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.

The council approved the Dec. 11, 2024 regular meeting minutes and the treasurer’s report after motions from Kelly Jones and seconds from Heather Schoning. On claims, Heather Schoning moved to approve the claims but to table payment to contractor Justin Nichol until the standard of work is checked; Kelly Jones seconded and the motion carried.

During commissioner reports, the council noted nonagenda items including a new speaker system (Clerk Kelsey Crabtree will manage sign‑out and instructions), plans for the town’s 20th fly‑in anniversary, and that the burn pile would remain closed for the week due to smoldering. Kelsey Crabtree reported the fire department and ambulance cleared shutting off the FD landline. Hersh Pruitt presented flooring options for the fire department for future consideration.

Kelly Jones moved to adjourn; Jeston Cundall seconded and the meeting was adjourned.
