Glendo fire department warns it lacks equipment for potential wind-turbine fires, raises yearlong water-pressure complaint

Fire Department representative Jay Collins told the Town of Glendo council on Sept. 17 that the department does not have the equipment necessary to respond to a potential fire at a proposed wind-turbine site discussed by nearby Chugwater.
Collins, speaking as a guest, also raised a separate infrastructure concern: ongoing low water pressure at Norbert Schultz’s property on Warren that, he said, has remained unresolved for more than a year. "[The] water pressure issues at Norbert Schultz’s property on Warren have been unresolved over a year after construction," Collins reported to the council.
Mayor Susan Juschka said she would consult town attorney Eric Jones to determine next steps on the water complaint and other legal or procedural options. In her earlier mayoral report she also noted a proposal from Chugwater to join impact discussions related to the wind project, signaling that the town expects to address potential intermunicipal impacts at a future meeting.
The Fire Department additionally reported the sale of a fire truck with payment still pending and flagged questions about reimbursements connected to the Tristany Hoffman case; Mayor Juschka said a court date related to that matter is set for Sept. 29, 2025 and she will provide updates afterward.
No formal motions or vote were recorded on the wind-project concerns or the water complaint at the Sept. 17 meeting; the mayor’s office and town attorney were identified as the next points of contact for follow-up.
