Anna council approves personnel hire, stoplight repair and financial housekeeping

Police Chief Darrin Goudy presented Gavin Jones as a candidate for part-time officer. Kristin Johnson moved to hire Jones at $16 per hour and Mark Pulfer seconded; the motion passed on a roll-call vote with all members voting in favor. The minutes record the hire as a formal approval of a part-time police position.
Administrator William Kessler reviewed a vendor quote of $18,250 to repair stoplights. Ken Aselage moved and Kristin Johnson seconded approval of the repair contract; council members voted unanimously to accept the $18,250 quote.
Fiscal Officer Stacy Meyer asked the council to authorize paperwork to transfer gifted shares of stock into the Village’s name. Ken Aselage moved and Riley Schumpert seconded authorization for Meyer to execute the documents; council approved the action by roll call.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved routine procedural items: waiving the reading of the July 3 meeting minutes and approving those minutes (with one abstention by Randy Van Horn), and approving the bank reconciliation and financial reports. The meeting adjourned at 7:38 p.m.
The council did not record any dissent on the named motions; next committee meetings were scheduled in the minutes and no formal date was set for final disposition of Ordinance 24-1849 beyond its second reading.
