The Farmington City Council unanimously approved a resolution on March 17 to permit the 2025 Founders Festival in downtown Farmington from July 17 through July 19.
Janna, speaking for the festival organizers, said the event will include a Warner Mansion kickoff party the Wednesday before the festival, a South Farmington Baseball fast-pitch fundraiser with a pitching radar and batting cage in the kids zone, and an added tournament scheduled inside the beer tent area on Saturday during bingo. "We will include information on the website and Facebook event description," Janna said, noting organizers had provided updated event details to staff.
Council members discussed the communication plan for local businesses affected by road closures and other operational impacts. Staff and the applicant said that the applicant is responsible for packaging and providing notice materials to businesses, though the city can assist with distribution. The council emphasized the need for tighter, closer-to-event communications so merchants can plan deliveries.
After discussion, Council member Taylor moved to approve the Founders Festival special event application and resolution; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously. Clerk Bachman called the roll and the motion carried.
The council expressed appreciation to event staff and volunteers for coordinating the festival. The resolution authorizes staff to work with the applicant to provide required notifications and venue preparations ahead of the July event.
