Lebanon Township Committee unanimously votes to enter executive session for employment interviews

The Township Committee of the Township of Lebanon met in special session on Aug. 20, 2025. Mayor Brian Wunder called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and said the session had been posted and noticed under the Open Public Meetings Act.

The committee unanimously adopted Resolution No. 119-2025 authorizing an executive session under N.J.S.A. 40:4-12 to discuss matters involving employment interviews. The motion to adopt the resolution was made by Jay Wojcik and seconded by Abe Abuchowski; all four members present — Abe Abuchowski, Jay Wojcik, Tom McKee and Mayor Brian Wunder — voted aye.

Clerk Carolynn Budd recorded that no members of the public attended the meeting; the committee opened and closed the public comment period by motion (moved by Abe Abuchowski, seconded by Tom McKee) before taking up the resolution.

Per the resolution language and the statutory references to the Open Public Meetings Act, the committee indicated the specific exception being relied upon is discussion of employment matters (noted in the minutes as interviews), which the resolution states may be withheld from public disclosure to protect privacy interests. The committee entered executive session at 6:02 p.m. and closed that session at 6:35 p.m., reconvening in public before adjourning.
