The Borough of High Bridge council introduced Ordinance 2023-025 on June 22, a proposed amendment to Borough Code Chapter 275 to add Article III concerning lead-based paint inspections. Councilwoman Ferry moved to introduce the ordinance, Councilman Silvestri seconded, and the introduction passed on a 6-0 roll-call vote.
Mayor Michele Lee directed that the ordinance be published in the Express Times and/or the Hunterdon County Democrat and stated that a public hearing on the ordinance will be held July 20, 2023. The council did not take a final vote on the ordinance; introduction advances it to the required public-notice and hearing stage for further consideration.
The ordinance text was not discussed in detail at the meeting record beyond the introduction and publication instructions; the council motion set the statutory process in motion for public comment at the July 20 hearing.
