High Bridge council approves consent agenda, removes committee member from Economic Development Committee

The Borough of High Bridge council voted unanimously on June 22 to approve a multi-item consent agenda that included contract awards for paving, a federal-aid agreement with the New Jersey Department of Transportation for a Safe Routes to School downtown connection, a Chapter 159 Transit Village appropriation and a plenary license approval for Circa.
Councilman Doyle moved and Councilman Nowell seconded the motion to approve Resolutions 194-2023 through 201-2023 and Resolution 203-2023; the roll-call vote was six in favor, none opposed.
During discussion of Resolution 202-2023 (Updated Boards and Committees), Council and Municipal Clerk Adam Young reviewed committee terms and the resolution was amended to reflect the resignation of a committee member. Councilman Doyle moved (seconded by Councilman Nowell) an amendment to remove Lauren Hamlin from the Economic Development Committee; that amendment passed on a 6-0 roll-call vote. Councilwoman Ferry then moved (seconded by Councilman Silvestri) to approve Resolution 202-2023 as amended; that motion also passed 6-0.
The consent agenda contained specific municipal items listed in the meeting packet: acceptance of a bid for a water valve turner; approval of a COVID-19 expansion-of-premises permit; approval of Solitude House reservation applications and related restorations and fundraising support; authorization to execute a federal-aid agreement with NJDOT for the SRTS downtown connection; award of a contract to Nassau Paving and awards for paving work on Sunset, Mary Jo, Hoffman, Sylvan, Jane Lane and Mine; a Chapter 159 appropriation for Transit Village; a plenary license approval for Circa; and cancellation of capital appropriation balances.
