Salisbury Planning and Zoning Commission continues Wake Robin Inn hotel hearing after acoustics presentations

The record shows the date of receipt as May 5, 2025, and that the hearing—opened Aug. 5, 2025—is scheduled to close by Sept. 9, 2025.
Discussion at the Aug. 12 session focused first on acoustical aspects of the redevelopment. Herb Singleton, the town's consulting acoustical engineer, presented acoustical analysis and mitigation considerations; the applicant presented additional materials on the project. The commission then held two periods of public comment; the minutes note public comments occurred but do not include verbatim remarks.
Regular Member Allen Cockerline moved "To continue the public hearing to August 14, 2025 at 7:30pm via Zoom." Secretary Martin Whalen seconded, and the commission voted 5-0-0 to continue the hearing.
The commission also noted a separate matter, Item #2025-0295 (235 Belgo Road, LLC), which proposes a vertical expansion of a nonconforming barn for conversion to a single-family residence under Section 503.2; a public hearing for that application is scheduled for Aug. 18, 2025, at 6:45 p.m.
The meeting adjourned at 9:14 p.m. The Wake Robin Inn hearing will resume Aug. 14, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom.
