Isanti County Parks Commission elects chair and vice chair, approves 2025 budget and routine bills

Susan Blom was elected chair and Tom Schibilla vice chair at the Isanti County Parks & Recreation Commission meeting on Jan. 27, 2025. The commission took nominations and recorded Blom receiving five votes to Luke Merrill’s four votes, with Merrill noted as abstaining; Schibilla received five votes to Merrill’s four, with Merrill abstaining. The meeting was called to order by Parks Director Barry Wendorf at 5:00 p.m.
The commission approved its amended agenda and the Nov. 25 Park Board minutes. Members approved the 2025 Budget Report with a recommendation to appropriately allocate the Office Admin position. The board also approved bills and invoices for January ($2,209.89) and December ($86,337.25), for a combined total of $88,547.14.
Staffing and procedural matters were recorded: Parks Maintenance Worker Nick Jones was listed as hired part time and started Jan. 6, 2025. Per diems and a Conflict of Interest compliance statement were recorded on the agenda. The meeting adjourned at 6:52 p.m.; the next meeting was scheduled for Feb. 24, 2026, at the Isanti County Government Center.
