The Salisbury Planning and Zoning Commission continued a public hearing Aug. 26 on a special-permit application from Wake Robin LLC and Serena Granbery (ARADEV LLC) to redevelop the Wake Robin Inn at 104 and 106 Sharon Road and 53 Wells Hill Road. Commissioners voted unanimously to reconvene the hearing Sept. 4, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. by Zoom, keeping the record open ahead of the administrative close-by date of Sept. 9, 2025.
Dr. Michael Klemens, chair of the Salisbury Planning and Zoning Commission, opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. The application was listed on the agenda as #2025-0287, with a date of receipt of May 5, 2025, and the hearing previously opened Aug. 5, 2025. The commission’s Land Use staff on the call included Land Use Director Abby Conroy and Land Use Technical Specialist Miles Todaro; Town consulting acoustical engineer Herb Singleton was also listed as present.
The applicant presented materials describing the proposed hotel redevelopment. Experts retained by the Crugers offered technical responses to the application during the continued hearing. Commissioners asked questions of both the applicant and the Crugers’ experts; the transcript records that the floor was then opened for public comment. The record notes that Vice Chair Cathy Shyer left the meeting at 8:14 p.m.
During the hearing a motion was made to continue. Commissioner Allen Cockerline moved to continue the public hearing to Sept. 4, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom; Secretary Martin Whalen seconded. The motion passed 5-0-0.
After the continuation vote the commission took a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Bob Riva moved to adjourn; Whalen seconded, and the commission voted 5-0-0 to adjourn at 9:31 p.m. Miles Todaro, Land Use Technical Specialist, is listed as the recording staff member for the meeting minutes.
The hearing remains open and scheduled to resume on Sept. 4, 2025.
