Commission reviews proposed 80,538 sq ft annex at 123 Oak Street, adds to Aug. 26 agenda

Counsel for AKT Two Realty LLC presented a proposal on July 29 to construct a three-story annex at 123 Oak Street that would add approximately 80,538 square feet and about 750 self-storage units to an existing building, bringing the total building to roughly 218,196 square feet and 1,445 storage units.
The applicant reported that the number of on-site parking spaces would drop from 111 to 46, a level that still exceeds the 19 spaces required by the Village Code. The applicant also proposed removing existing bituminous pavement from portions of the lot and replacing it with pervious asphalt and landscaped planter beds to reduce impervious coverage from 97.2% to about 80%, along with additional stormwater mitigation measures.
The commission reviewed the materials and adjourned the matter to the Aug. 26 meeting for continued consideration. Planning staff and consultants were asked to continue technical review and coordinate any outstanding submittals.
