Ernst described a three‑stage plan to "seal up this little problem" caused by thefts on a rear patio: replace the existing wooden door with a steel security door, frame for metal panels sourced from M5 Metals, and finish with a brown/tan paint scheme. He said the panels will be rolled so screws are hidden and will include open cross‑pattern areas to allow ventilation: "the bigger crosses will be about 2 inches tall... you'll be able to see right through there. So hopefully that hot air can escape." Board members discussed material appearance, ventilation for storage uses and how the panels would read from the street.
Following brief discussion the board voted to approve the proposal. Ernst asked whether he needed a certificate of appropriateness to take with him; staff indicated the certificate was already issued and he did not need additional paperwork.
Ernst thanked the board and left with the approval and instructions to coordinate any follow‑up with staff.
