Dr. Houlihan said staff will provide an update at the July finance committee meeting and anticipates a public discussion about the agreement with the board at its August meeting. The county set‑aside, he said, is specifically intended to support teacher and teacher assistant pay.
The remarks came during board comments after public testimony and a presentation of policy edits. The board chairman framed the interlocal as part of ongoing coordination with the Board of County Commissioners while emphasizing the statutory distinction between the two bodies.
Next steps: UCPS staff will continue questions with county staff, report to the July finance committee, and present the agreement for public discussion at the August board meeting.
