The Brentwood Union Free School District Board of Education elected Eileen Felix president for the 2026–27 school year and approved a package of officer and contractor appointments at its July 7, 2026 reorganizational meeting.
By roll call, trustees voted to confirm Felix as president. The board also selected Julia Burgos as first vice president and Brandon Garcia as second vice president. The newly elected president was sworn and presided over the remainder of the reorganizational business.
The Board approved a slate of district officers and external service contracts for 07/01/2026–06/30/2027. Key approved appointments and fiscal details recorded in the meeting packet and enacted by motion included: Lindsay Denninger as district clerk (annual salary $72,100); Nancy Carollo as district treasurer (annual salary $23,894); Daniel Calderon as district purchasing agent; Sereny and Associates as claims auditor at an annual fee of $33,675; EFPR as external auditor at an annual fee of $45,000; and Munistat as the district’s fiscal advisor. The board also approved retaining legal firms for board and labor counseling with retainers and hourly attorney rates noted in the packet (retainers cited at $65,000 for listed firms and hourly partner/attorney rates noted in the materials).
The board approved Naraki Smith LLP as internal auditor and recorded the firm’s hourly rate schedule (partner $200; manager $175; supervisor $150; senior $125; staff $100). The network systems coordinator was appointed data protection officer and the director of school safety was named the district’s chief emergency officer consistent with Education Law §2801‑a and its implementing regulations.
The Board adopted an audit committee charter and appointed members (listed in the packet), and it approved routine consent items included in agenda sections 6 and 7. Several compliance officer appointments were made: the assistant superintendent of special services was named both the district 504 compliance officer and the Medicaid compliance officer for 2026–27; the director of facilities was named the asbestos compliance officer; and an amended roster of Title IX compliance officers was approved after the board corrected the title “assistant superintendent of special education” to “assistant superintendent of special services.”
Most motions were supported by unanimous voice or roll-call votes as recorded in the meeting. The reorganizational business concluded and the board moved into its regular business agenda.
The Board packet included the detailed contract terms, listed retainers and fees, and the full personnel roster for the positions above; those documents were approved as presented and will be reflected in the district’s official records and forthcoming minutes.
