Jared, who assisted with the event, estimated attendance at about 1,000 people and said the library alone had about 600 visitors during the event.
Commissioners and attendees praised the Alabama Army National Guard Band's performance, saying it covered 250 years of music and drew strong audience response. Organizers said the indoor venue was important because the band preferred performing with air conditioning.
