Bartlett High renovation 84.5% complete; district plans summer hardscape work and furniture disposal

“Phase 3, we're 84 and a half percent complete,” a district staff member said, outlining plans to finish structural steel, roof work and interior framing and to advance exterior hardscape (curbing, sidewalks, milling and repaving) once school is out. The report estimated a December target for moving certain spaces and final phase completion in June 2027.
Staff outlined punch‑list status: Phase 1 has four items open (total value about $19,000) while Phase 2 has roughly 140 open items valued at about $330,000. The team said advancing certain hardscape and furniture receipt work over the summer would minimize disruption during the academic year.
On surplus furniture, staff said they will first reach out to the statewide business manager list and other potential recipients and consider in‑school silent auctions or targeted donations before declaring items surplus for formal disposal. “We will make our best effort to find a home for [surplus furniture],” staff said.
Maintenance updates reported separately included a June 1 false fire alarm caused by a faulty smoke detector at Webster Middle School (sensor replaced the same morning) and a cracked water heater at Park Ave that staff said they are expediting to replace.
What happens next: staff will bring a surplus declaration to the next committee meeting and proceed with the planned summer schedule for hardscape and furniture delivery.
