The Beaufort County Airports board approved a resolution to authorize Campbell Oil Company as the fuel service provider at Beaufort Executive Airport after staff presented the procurement results.
Staff said Campbell and Titan were the primary bidders and that evaluation criteria determined Campbell as the recommended provider. The director told the board that one favorable option in Campbell's proposal includes about $35,000 earmarked for airport capital improvement projects and that Campbell will provide fuel truck rentals to the airport for the duration of the contract. "Right now, we rent each fuel truck from them. And so this contract, the fuel trucks will be free for the duration of the contract," the director said.
Board members asked whether the vendor could change fuel prices; staff replied that fuel prices are market driven and not set by the contract. A board member asked which companies submitted proposals; staff said all major aviation fuel companies respond to the RFP and identified Titan and Campbell as the top two respondents.
A motion to approve the contract was moved and seconded; the board approved the award by voice vote with no roll‑call recorded.
The board did not discuss a detailed roll‑call tally at the meeting; staff said the chosen contract contains incentives the airport will use for capital projects and operations.
