Selectmen hear update on school portables, insurance and building‑use documentation

The board received an update on the school portable project schedule and on insurance and occupancy documentation for a town school building.
Tim, a town staff member, said the town is under contract with an insurance broker and is working with PERMA; until insurance and related documentation are finalized, staff cannot complete decisions on floor replacement. He said he expects further decisions in the next couple of weeks. On the portable schedule, Tim said P&H Construction is expected to mobilize on July 6 and portable delivery is likely the first week of August; staff noted one remaining architect approval related to conduit distances between the school and the portable locations.
Board members asked that documentation from the fire marshal, the building department and consultant Fosse & O'Neill be kept together so future insurance reviewers have clear records of contemplated use, inspections and communications. A board member said the K–12 building committee has engaged SLR for demographic work to help project long‑term facility needs.
The board took no formal action on the update beyond directing staff to continue coordination with insurance and building officials and to return if additional approvals or expenditures are needed.
