Robbins board approves $336,100 community-center contract and passes 2024–25 budget

The Village of Robbins Board of Trustees on July 23 approved a $336,100 contract for community-center work and adopted the village's 2024–25 appropriation budget.
Trustee David R. Dyson moved to award the community center RFP to Your Way Construction for $336,100.00; the motion was seconded by Trustees Gregory N. Jackson and Tiffany S. Robinson and carried on a roll-call vote recorded as Dyson, Maxey, Harper, Robinson, Jackson, Collier.
Trustee Gregory N. Jackson moved to approve the 2024–2025 appropriation budget, seconded by Trustee David R. Dyson. The motion carried after roll-call votes in favor from Dyson, Maxey, Robinson, Jackson and Collier; Trustee Thomas Harper recorded an abstention.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved the treasurer's report showing $1,126,697.53 on a motion by Trustee Tiffany S. Robinson, seconded by Trustee Thomas Harper. That motion also carried by roll call.
Trustee Gregory N. Jackson acknowledged the appropriation process followed "many meetings over several months," and also noted the mayor did not agree with some board decisions. The board then held a closed session under the personnel exemption; no formal personnel action was reported on the public record after reconvening.
The meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
