Orange County School Board introduces Kristen Anderson to leadership team; approves personnel actions in closed session

The Orange County School Board announced the appointment of Kristen Anderson to the district leadership team and approved personnel actions presented in closed session.

Dr. Hronecker introduced Anderson and summarized her background: she is a graduate of Orange County High School, earned a bachelor’s degree from Mary Baldwin, completed a master of arts in teaching in 2022 and holds a post-master’s certificate in educational leadership from William & Mary. Dr. Hronecker said Anderson has experience teaching middle-school mathematics in Staunton City Schools, serving in Stafford County Public Schools, working as a mathematics specialist and instructional coach, and holding roles including middle school athletic director and elementary testing coordinator.

Dr. Hronecker, relaying Anderson’s remarks, said Anderson is "passionate about empowering educators, fostering positive school cultures, and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive." The board welcomed Anderson and invited the Locust Grove Primary Cardinal community and residents to join a welcome celebration.

Earlier in the meeting, the board handled item a — disposition of personnel actions — in closed session. Dr. Hronecker recommended approval of the personnel actions as presented; the motion was seconded and the board approved the recommendation. The board did not disclose the names or details of those personnel actions on the public record.

The meeting then proceeded to other business and adjourned at approximately 8:00 a.m.
