Cochran seeks bids for park maintenance and municipal parking-lot paving

The Cochran City Council on Nov. 6 authorized staff to seek bids for an expanded park maintenance contract and heard a plan to pave the rear municipal building parking lot.
City Manager Richard Newbern presented a draft maintenance proposal for Cochran Community Park and additional city facilities that would add edging, trimming, irrigation checks and seasonal color at the Municipal Building, City Hall, the Community House and the Peyton Williams Building; staff were authorized to solicit bids with updated specifications.
Public Works Director Willie Farrow described paving the rear municipal building parking lot and said staff will seek quotes and coordinate with Bleckley County to potentially include adjacent areas for cost efficiency; the paving work will be considered alongside upcoming LMIG/TIA projects.
No final contract award or formal vote on paving was recorded; the council authorized staff to gather quotes and return recommendations to a future meeting.
