The Cochran City Council on Nov. 6 flagged inconsistencies in competing three-year solid-waste bids and directed staff to clarify service expectations before rebidding. Council discussion noted unclear service-frequency information and difficulty comparing vendor proposals from Amwaste and Ryland Environmental.
On a motion by Councilman Gary Ates, seconded by Councilman Shane Savant, the council voted unanimously to hold a work session to determine service expectations and to have the City Manager draft a side-by-side service-specification sheet comparing current service, vendor proposals, and customer billing.
City staff will use the specification sheet to produce a clear request for proposals or rebid packet and will schedule the work session to set final expectations and timelines.
