Selena Garten of The Phoenix Network and a representative from the Johnson County Prevention Coalition told the Holden City Council on Feb. 20 they are coordinating prevention programs and will host "Fentanyl Forum: Part 2" on April 3, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at Covenant Church. Police Chief Mayhew has been working with organizers on the event.
Why it matters: The forum is intended to provide residents information about drug use, prevention and local resources; city and county public-safety partners are involved.
Selena Garten reported that The Phoenix Network has worked with the police to plan a follow-up community forum focused on fentanyl awareness and prevention. The minutes list the April 3 date, start time of 6:30 p.m., and the Covenant Church location. The minutes note a Johnson County Prevention Coalition representative also spoke but do not provide that speaker's name.
The minutes do not list an agenda for the forum, any speakers beyond the organizations named, or specific funding for the event. Residents seeking more information should contact The Phoenix Network or the Police Department for event details.
