Holden council approves contracts, liquor-license change and $14,725 WWTF reimbursement

The council approved a requested amendment to Dollar Tree/Family Dollar's liquor license to add intoxicating liquor and permit Sunday sales. Councilwoman Mallory moved the change; Councilman Goodfellow seconded and the motion passed (minutes note the motion passed; no roll-call tally is recorded in the minutes).
Separately, the Board of Public Works and O & M Enterprises asked the council to reimburse BPW for a WWTF design invoice that had been paid from the BPW budget before council had authorized city funding for the WWTF project. Councilman Mensch moved to reimburse BPW $14,725; Councilwoman Fields seconded and the motion passed on a roll-call vote with every member recorded as "Yes." The minutes say the WWTF funding previously had been approved to come from American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds and the city budget rather than the BPW budget.
Mayor Pro Tem McDaniel introduced Resolution R25-03 to appoint Becky Handley to the Board of Parks and Recreation. Councilman Mensch moved and Councilman Miller seconded; the resolution was approved.
