NYSDOT proposes alternate Bronx Park access route; committee requests final detail and sidewalk connection

The email said the plan would use an existing virtual-avenue entrance to the parks facility, require a sidewalk from the facility to a shared-use path, require fewer tree removals and be located farther from residential buildings. NYPD and Parks were described as generally supportive while one final detail remained outstanding.
A committee member read the email and relayed that, if Parks concurs, NYSDOT would direct the design-builder to implement the changes. A resident who follows parks issues said she was happy with the proposal. Committee members asked staff to seek the outstanding detail from NYSDOT, request a diagram if needed, and pursue a site walk-through to confirm impacts before any design directive was finalized.
