The UPAS MPO board unanimously approved changes to its public participation posting practices to align with the Texas Open Meetings Act's current notice language while making extra local postings optional.
The MPO director explained the board had originally set higher internal posting requirements but recommended matching the state statutory requirement now described as "three business days" before a meeting. He said the MPO will continue to post agendas at Eagle Pass City Hall and will email partner entities and invite them to post notices when possible but will not require every partner to post to avoid staffing strain and fees.
The director noted the Maverick County Courthouse charges an $8 per-posting fee, which has led to more than $100 in posting invoices since the MPO's formation.
Commissioner Ramos moved the change; Councilman Diaz seconded. The board voted aye unanimously.
