During new business, the clerk presented standard consent items. The commission approved the FY27 Blue Cross Blue Shield health and dental insurance plan with no rate increase; they ratified the FY25 federal audit grant signature; and they renewed the lawn-service contract for $51,450. The clerk also read a contract to receive credits from National Utilities related to the county Verizon account ($5,379) and discussed moving forward under a cooperative contract with ICS for a new phone system (pending county attorney review).
The commission recorded a motion and second on central dispatch integration into the phone system, described as a one-time cost of $12,901.87 that will require a budget amendment and coordination with the 911 board if 911 funds are used. Staff noted there were existing 911 line items that might cover the expense and that a 911 board meeting could be called if needed.
The commission also appointed Jason Pruitt to the Pine Mountain board and approved payment of regular bills.
