County to accept $15,000 Complete Streets award; may apply to Safe Streets match

Commissioner Kenneth described participation with Smart Growth America’s Complete Streets Leadership Academy alongside Springville and Moody. He said two communities received $15,000 each, and because one community dropped out, an extra $15,000 has been offered to St. Clair County if the county will accept and have an appointed participant attend a couple of meetings.
Kenneth said the county could use the $15,000 toward a $26,000 match required for the Safe Streets for All demonstration activity. "So if y'all are good with receiving their funds, then there's a grant agreement, and I've sent it to Kirk," Kenneth said, and noted county attorney Kirk would review the agreement before execution.
The commission moved and seconded acceptance of the award; staff will have the agreement reviewed and return with any final administrative steps.
